By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

Steamy moment: Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively face off in the new Green Lantern movie trailer

Fans have been waiting a long time for this.

In the first-ever released scenes form the new Green Lantern movie, Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively share a smouldering scene.

The scenes, shown on U.S. show Entertainment Tonight also show Ryan changing into his alter ego the Green Lantern in a flash, stunning a friend.

Then we see Gossip Girl's Blake Lively, 23, and Ryan, 34, facing off in an aircraft hangar.

The newly-brunette actress stares into Ryan's eyes as he unbuckles his belt and declares: ' Let's get these pants off and fly some planes.'

While viewers have yet to see the full trailer, which Entertainment Tonight plans to air tomorrow, this first glimpse certainly looks promising.

Suited up: Ryan shows off his fit physique in his superhero outfit

Ryan, who looks buff in a clinging white vest and low-slung trousers, has clearly been working out in preparation for the role - Blake could be forgiven for being smitten.

The Canadian actor stars with Blake as his love interest in the film, which is out in cinemas next June.

The movie is based on a popular DC comic which tells the story of Hal Jordan, a pilot who receives a power ring from a dying alien.

He then becomes the Green Lantern and is inducted into an interstellar police force.
The ring gives the Lantern all sorts of special powers, including the ability to fly, read minds, and create objects out of ‘green energy.’

It took Reynolds hours of training to film the elaborate flight scenes as well as maintain a special diet to get in shape for the role.

‘It’s all part of the job, so I guess I can’t complain,’ he told Entertainment Weekly.
‘You spend one day a week eating what you want and the other six days eating drywall and wood chips,' he adds dryly.

The 33-year-old actor has also found himself becoming one half of some sort of comic book partnership – with his wife Scarlett Johansson recently playing the Black Widow in the Iron Man franchise.

‘We have a lot of comic books lying around the house – more than your average young married couple,’ he says.
