Unimpressed: Ben is told by Special Forces veteran Myke Hawke that he will have to complete an army exercise task as part of his 'Day Of Hell'
After a successful stand-up comedy routine last night in front of the live eviction crowd, Big Brother housemate Ben appeared to have redeemed himself slightly with viewers.
But the 30-year-old writer undid all his good work earlier today when he quit an army exercise task, and made fellow housemate David complete it in his place.
Ben was told last night he would have to face a 'Day Of Hell' today after revealing that the Tree of Temptation had been talking to him.
Giving up: Ben was less than impressed with the task and gave up early
He is being punished for letting slip that he had been talking to the Tree in the Big Brother bathroom.
Earlier in the day, Ben had been woken up by extremely loud music, before having a full cooked breakfast tipped on his head.
He was then called to the Diary Room for the next part of his challenge, which saw him taken on an army drill-style exercise routine with Special Forces veteran Myke Hawke.
However, after just a few minutes of running on the spot in full camoflauge army gear, Ben told Hawke he had had enough.
Replacement: Ben chose David to replace him in the army exercise task
Tough: David struggled with the rigorous exercise regime set by Hawke
But his decision didn't go down too well with Hawke, who told him: 'You're going to quit just like that? I ain't doing anything to you but getting you fit', before adding that there would be consequences for his housemates if Ben decided not to continue with the task.
And it was all too much for Ben, who let slip that he got on the best with David in the house.
Shortly after Ben's admission, David was called into the Diary Room where he was told Ben had given up on the task with the knowledge that David would replace him.
Determined: Hawke shows how best to perform a sit up before the task
It's all too much: David collapses after explaining he never really exercises
He was given a similar army style outfit and taken into the exercise room to meet Hawke.
But as soon as he started the rigorous exercise regime, David began struggling, and panted: 'I am one fat individual, I don’t do these things. This is more exercise than I've done in three or four years!'
As Ben emerged from the Diary Room in his army gear, he explained why he had given up on the task to his fellow housemates, adding: 'I'm just not a sporting individual'.
Bathtime: Shabby and Caoimhe shared a bath earlier in the day - they both escaped eviction last night
Looking all white: Corin puts on her bikini for a day of sunbathing in the BB garden
However, his decision sparked concern among many of the housemates, who are worried Ben's refusal to continue will mean they will not receive their full shopping budget allowance.
But David didn't hold the decision against Ben, telling him he would never speak any evil of him.
Also today, Ife was told she had been chosen as the second housemate to take on a member of the public.
Last night saw Sunshine voted off the Channel 4 reality show, after losing the public vote to Shabby and Caoimhe.
Taking a time out: Josie wears a green bikini as she relaxes in the pool with Shabby
Sunshine lady: Josie enjoys a bowl of cereal in the comfort of the garden this morning
