New task: Housemates took part in a wheelchair basketball task this afternoon

Big Brother housemates took part in a wheelchair basketball task this afternoon, with the winning team awarded a selection of fast food and ball games.

After being taught by basketball coach Steve, the housemates were split into two teams, with Shabby, David and Mario pitted against Nathan, John James and Corin.
The rest of the housemates made up the Big Brother cheerleading squad.

Big Brother also told the cheerleaders that the best cheerer among them would be able to participate in the winning team's reward.

Before the game began, Shabby decided her team would be called The Growlers while Nathan's team opted for the nickname The Wheeled Warriors.

After a difficult start, the teams ended up drawing 3-3 at the end of the first half, but the blue team ended up winning eventually with nine points to the Growlers' 7.

Speaking about the task afterwards, coach Steve, who had also picked the teams, said: 'As far as I'm concerned everyone's a winner, we all took part, we all had fun.'

However, that may not have been the mentality of the losers, who were forced to watch as the winning team (Steve, Nathan, Corin, John James and Ife) enjoyed their fast food reward.

But Shabby, Caoimhe and Josie decided to tease the winners by flashing them through the see-through window into the kitchen.

Annoyed: The trio were angry they had missed out on the reward of fast food and ball games

Earlier in the day, contestants were discussing what they would do with their prize money if they were crowned the eventual winner of the Channel 4 show.

The group were saying that the best use of the prize fund would be to buy injured Army veteran Steve a new leg.

Ben suggested that they should not assume that Steve was the only person who might have needs, and that family members of their fellow housemates may be more needy, but Christian minister Dave said that he may be viewed negatively for saying that.

Happy: John James puts his thumbs up to the camera during the day

Dave said he would not think of his family straightaway. He would spend the money setting up an orphanage in India.

Dave and Ben then agreed it was pointless having the conversation as Steve was definitely going to win.

Bookmakers William Hill are not so sure, though.

They have Josie as 3/1 favourite to win - the fifth favourite in the last 10 days.

Spokesman Rupert Adams said: 'The last 48 hours have been all about Josie and I have a feeling she could go on to be the most unusual of Big Brother winners.'
Corin is second favourite at 9/2 and Steve and Ben are both 5/1.
