INTERNATIONAL STARS MAKE MISS WORLD 2010 A TV SPECTACULAR

The Miss World Final 2010 will be bigger, brighter and more spectacular than ever, as 115 of the world’s most beautiful and talented young women take to the glittering stage on Saturday 30 October for the start of the 60th anniversary year.

The global TV audience will be entertained by some incredible musical talent. A trio of world class performances will come from international singers and musicians who have flown in for this event:



Shayne Ward: Singer

Global chart-topper who made it big after winning UK TV talent show The X Factor.Debut single ‘That’s My Goal’ smashed UK records for first day sales, debuting at Number One and selling more than 1.3 million copies. He also topped charts in Hong Kong, Sweden, Indonesia, Korea, South Africa, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand. Departing from the ballads of his million selling platinum debut album, for his second album chose to make music bursting with energy. His latest unselfconscious and fruity collection of pop, R&B and electronica takes influences from Prince, Ne-Yo and Justin Timberlake.




Dave Koz : Saxophonist

In a career that spans twenty years and a dozen albums, saxophonist Dave Koz has established himself as a prominent figure in contemporary music. He released his self-titled debut in 1990. The gold certified The Dance (1999) and Saxophonic (2003) each spawned five Top 5 hits on the contemporary jazz charts, and the latter scored two Grammy nominations. In 2007 At the Movies spent 12 weeks at the top of Billboard’s Contemporary Jazz chart and scored a second Grammy nomination for Best Pop Instrumental Album. Latest album Hello Tomorrow features an array of high-profile guests: Herb Alpert, Jonathan Butler, Brian Culbertson, Sheila E, Boney James, Jeff Lorber, Keb’ Mo’, Ray Parker, Jr. and others.




Carlos Aponte : Singer

Puerto Rican singing sensation Carlos Aponte won a standing ovation at NBC’s America’s Got Talent, when he debuted before a TV audience of 14 million people. His fame grew fast and his online video site received more than one million visits. His website was inundated with request for him to appear again and release his pop-opera material. Carlos treats classic material with a style popular with today’s market: an ideal combination to span the age groups and nations of the world.

The event will also feature music and dance performances from Sanya, the home of Miss World in China.

The Miss World Final is one of the biggest and best loved TV events: franchised in more than 130 countries, broadcast in over 180 countries, and seen by more than one billion viewers, making it the World’s most watched annual TV event. This is the fifth time that Sanya has been home to the Miss World Final, successfully hosting the 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2007 events.
