Lady in white: Gaga wore what looked like a nurse's hat as she signed autographs for fans

Last week it was her mother, this week it's her boyfriend that has joined Lady Gaga on her tour of Europe.

As the singer's Monster Ball tour reached the Austrian capital Vienna, barman Luc Carl was spotted arriving at the hotel where the 24-year-old singer is staying.

However the pair kept things discreet with Luc - dressed in purple jeans, brown boots and a black leather jacket - returning to the hotel without his superstar girlfriend.

The couple rekindled their relationship earlier this year, and showed signs of making a more serious commitment to each other when they enjoyed a romantic break on the Greek island of Crete last month.

There, they reportedly took part in a secret commitment ceremony where they exchanged handwritten vows and rings.

Meanwhile Gaga - real name Stefani Joanne Germanotta - looked like a cross between a nurse and 60s fashion icon Jackie Onassis as she showed off her latest quirky choice of clothing while she signed autographs for fans.

All alone: Luc was joined by a male companion at one point, but there was no sign of Gaga

The singer was dressed in a short white shift dress and matching waistcoat - and while her pearls, scarlet lipstick and large sunglasses gave the outfit a retro feel, the singer's white hat gave the whole ensemble a strangely clinical look.

Vienna is the latest stop on the singer's Monster Ball tour of Europe.

She performed last week at the Arena Zagreb in Zagreb, Croatia and earlier this week played shows in Turin, Italy and the Hungarian capital Budapest.

The latter show clashed with the MTV Europe Music Awards in Madrid, Spain, this week, and as a result she was unable to attend.

However Gaga, who won three prizes - Best Pop, Best Female and Best Song for Bad Romance - thanked fans from the stage during the concert.

The latest leg of the tour also includes dates in Switzerland and Sweden.

In demand: the singer returned to the hotel separately from Luc Carl but received a lot more attention

Gaga took a break from the tour last week to spend some time in London. She was joined by her mother, Cynthia Germanotta, while also working on her second album Born This Way, at the capital's Abbey Road Studios.

'It came so quickly,' she said recently. 'I've been working on it for months, and I feel very strongly that it's finished right now. Some artists take years. I don't. I write music every day," she said recently.

She has also recently finished recording a duet with Sir Elton John. The track, called Hello Hello, will feature in the new Disney film Gnomeo and Juliet.

The singer will return to London for two shows at the 02 Arena on December 16 and 17.
