The track appears to have captured the spirit of the nation - sweeping straight into the number one spot.
The rework of the Tears For Fears hit, masterminded by Simon Cowell, beat Tinie Tempah's Frisky, which came in second.
The track, which only reached number 21 when it was released last month, features lyrics including: 'Come on England, we need to sort it out/Put the champs down, pull your finger out.
'Leave the Wags alone, set aside your ego/We're tired of bragging about 40-odd years ago/ We need a victory, quick, fast.'
Shout is among a handful of football songs making it into the top 40.
Three Lions, which became a massive hit for Baddiel and Skinner during the 1996 European Championship, came in at number 10 - up from position 53.
Meanwhile, New Order's World in Motion was in at number 22, with Terry Venables' If I Can Dream just behind at 23.
